Community Aid Fund's Planned projects (Large projects)
Project 1
Title: Water for plants, animals and people.
Country: Benin
Description: Climate change impedes water availability for cooking, drinking, hygiene, and food production. People in remote and hard-to-reach areas across central Benin rely on rain that’s getting scarcer. According to climate analytics, precipitation will decrease by 15% until 2030. Droughts will therefore become longer and more intense. Figures particularly alert the public hand and charities on urgent actions, because up to 500,000 people in central Benin currently have no access to water for domestic use, growing fresh produce or raising livestock. As a result, thirst is increasing, extreme poverty is rising, conflict between farmers and herders emerges, public health is of high concern, and hunger is devastating rural households, including children, girls and women who are most affected. A Water well provides a sustainable source for agricultural and livestock production, safe drinking water, income generation, community development, and peace. This 6-year project (2024 -2030) is aimed at building 20 water wells each year to cope with climate change. It benefits farms, schools and households. Up to 350000 people, 6 communes, one region (Department of Hills) and 120 villages are the beneficiaries of this project.

Project 2
Title: Farm for future
Country: Benin
Description: Future means women’s empowerment, food security, and school education for children in Benin. The "Département des Collines" in central Benin has high rates of children dropping out of school year after year. Hunger is most often the underlying cause. This project develops an organic farming (livestock and agriculture) on 15 to 20 hectares of land to produce healthy food for school children aged between 4 and 10 years in six communes. Through this farming project, 500 women with no income are recruited for training and employment in agro-ecology. In sum, the project produces food (eggs, cheese, fish, meat, maize, beans, market gardening, rice, fruit juice, yams, soya, cassava, etc.) for 30 partner schools across central Benin and enables women producers to earn and save money. Up to 40000 children will be impacted by the project.

Project 3
Title: Solar aid
Country: Benin
Short Description: The project supports 25 primary schools and up to 1000 households with access to solar energy through setting up social impact centers. We build solar plants to provide educational, business, and social services in off-grid areas where livelihoods, education and healthcare are threatened due to the lack of energy.
